Founder’s note

Forty years on, the rule hasn’t changed.

When I left the AMP Society in 1984, the idea was simple. I wanted to advise people based on what suited them, not on whatever product I was contracted to sell. So I built agencies with every leading NZ insurer, and that’s the shape we’ve kept ever since.

We’ve advised through three recessions, two major Canterbury earthquakes, the launch of KiwiSaver, the COVID years, and now a cost-of-living squeeze. The thing that surprised me most wasn’t the change. it was how rarely people’s actual needs change. A young family still needs cover. A self-employed tradie still needs income protection. A retiree still wants their savings to last.

Our job is to compare what’s on the shelf today, in plain English, and let you choose. That’s what we’ve done for forty years. That’s what we still do.
